Multiple reports claim he has a flat in Lower Manhattan. Other reports indicate he maintains homes in London and Barbados as well as in Ireland. Numerous online reports indicate David and his wife Iman bought a sixty four acre retreat atop Little Tonche Mountain in 2003. The hideaway is located "in Shokan, a hamlet neighboring Woodstock in the Catskills" according to Blair Golson in The New York Observer (2003 July 21). The Manhattan real estate company Eychner Associates, Inc. <Eychner.com> reported (in a 1999 Jan. 18 NY Observer reprint) that Dave agreed to buy "two apartments.... at 285 Lafayette Street, which total about 5,300 square feet.... part of an Upstairs, Downstairs scenario..." for four million dollars. The article also says "Mr. Bowie’s 5,200-square-foot loft at 704 Broadway–purchased just last February for $1.5 million but never lived in–is back on the market for $1.85 million." David reportedly maintains his official residence in Ireland. A confidential source formerly close to Bowie has informed BowieLink that this is so that Bowie need not pay any taxes as they are not required there.

Bowie's Irish residence is a 640-acre estate located a short distance from Dublin. So far, he has spent little time at his Irish estate.
Bowie also maintains a home in Switzerland, and one in New York, and a holiday home in Bermuda. When not working, Bowie spends most of his time in Bermuda.
