While Mick and Lisa were in the studio, David Bowie - riding high on his Let's Dance and Serious Moonlight tour - was in Toronto for two nights (at Toronto's CNE on September 3 and 4, 1983). Mick decided to pay his old sparring partner a visit and to catch the shows and took Lisa along as his guest. Lisa laughs as she remembers her introduction to Bowie: "We went down to the hotel and Mick says to Bowie,  'Oh David, I'd like you to meet Lisa, she's really, really smart...' And David goes, 'Oh yeah? Well what's the meaning of life?' I just wanted to clobber Mick on the head!"
Bowie invited Mick to come to the following night's performance. "Maybe you can play something", he suggested. Lisa recalls how, "Mick was, like, 'Yeah, maybe, whatever!' We go down the next day and Earl Slick (Bowie's tour guitarist) comes up to Mick and says, 'Check this guitar out, man'. He had a cool little prototype that someone had made for him in New York, so Mick was tempted by the offer of playing the thing on stage with his mate.
After so many years, the reunion that so many music fans around the world had longed for was about to take place at last. The premiere Spider agreed to join the former Mr Stardust on stage once again!
The show rocked like Toronto had been hit by a major earthquake. Before 'Jean Genie', Bowie halted the 60,000-strong audience and introduced Mick to a reception like no other. Earl Sick handed the guitar over and before Mick was camping it up with David in a recreation of some of their most fabulous performances in over a decade before. Lisa remembers Mick getting so involved that he nearly fell off the stage: "He was doing his whole spiel and Bowie is acting like there is no problem, 'if he falls, it's all part of the show.' Mick's doing all these major pyrotechnics. Remember, I'd never seen Mick perform before, so I was in shock!"
So involved was the erstwhile quiet, shy Yorkshireman, that "all of a sudden he goes to do this major stroke on the guitar, and the strap comes undone and the base of the guitar (hits) the ground. He's almost on his knees, and this guitar goes "BBBBPPPPPRRRRRRRAAAAAAAANNNNNNGGGGGG!!!!""
In shock, Slick's hand left his own guitar as he put it to face in horror. As quick as a flash, the newly liberated 'guitar-hero' Ronson realised that there was a chance for a bit of showmanship, and seamlessly incorporated the whole accident into a Hendrix-like pantomime, hitting the guitar on the floor again and again, spinning it with his left hand as it wailed. Bowie joined in, going over to Mick's spot on the stage and making sure the audience clocked the whole performance. Lisa thought that Slick would never forgive him for abusing his little wonder-guitar: "He just sort of took the guitar back, nodded and smiled!"
After the show Rick Rose ran into Mick in the parking lot. "We told him that he sounded great up there and he said, 'Really, I did? It sounded okay?' Remember, there were 60,000 people going nuts." The reunion of the Spider and the Spaceman was, of course, a blistering success. Another nine years would pass before David and Mick would work together again.

HURTZ ! Der gute alte Elton, hihi, hab ich gleich gelöscht

So dümmliche Artikel kriege ich alle Nas lang von Google-News zugesandt. Ich mach mir bald gar nicht mehr die Mühe, das zu lesen. Sagen wir mal so: Von 15 Google-News-Nachrichten ist evtl. eine darunter, wo es wirklich News über das Bo gibt. In allen anderen wird am Rande mal sein Name erwähnt, so wie in dem Elton-John-Seich, oder in Artikeln über anno-Tobak und Hinz und Kunz, die zufällig in der "Bowie-Ära" mit groß geworden sind.
